How Polyaspartic Waterproofing Works

The waterproofing topcoats in this range are two-component, solvent-free polyaspartic elastomers. A polyaspartic ester resin is combined with nano-functional materials and pigments, and the cured film behaves as a continuous elastomeric membrane: it bonds to the substrate, tolerates normal movement and thermal cycling, and keeps water out without depending on a separate sheet membrane. Because the systems are solvent-free there is no solvent carrier to evaporate, and the coatings are formulated for weather resistance and for resistance to yellowing in both indoor and outdoor exposure.

The Two Waterproofing Systems

ZM06 Polyaspartic Topcoat — a two-component solvent-free polyaspartic elastomer topcoat that combines waterproofing with anti-corrosion performance and mechanical strength. Suited to roofs and balconies, interior and exterior cement flooring, swimming pools, bathrooms and shower rooms, and renovation waterproofing over tiles, marble and floor slabs.
HZ06 Polyaspartic Waterproof Topcoat — a coloured two-component solvent-free polyaspartic polyurea topcoat for roofs, swimming pools, bathrooms, cement, tiles, marble and compatible metal substrates, combining long-term waterproofing and adhesion with flexibility, weather resistance and resistance to yellowing. Supplied as an 8 + 4 kg set mixed at A:B = 2:1 by weight, with a working time of about 20 minutes.

Substrates and Primer Selection

Performance depends on matching the system to the substrate. On cement concrete and mortar levelling layers the recommended primer is ST400 Waterborne Epoxy Penetrating Primer; on tiles, marble and floor slabs it is ST300 Interface Treatment Primer. For metal substrates an anti-rust or special metal primer should be selected separately. Surface preparation — removing dust, oil, rust and loose material and repairing cracks — remains the foundation of a durable result.
